Jute is a natural fibre that loves dry spaces — the golden rule is keep it dry.
- Keep it dry. Jute dislikes moisture — not suited to bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or outdoors.
- Vacuum both sides regularly; jute sheds naturally at first.
- Blot spills immediately and dry quickly — standing moisture can brown or watermark the fibres.
- Never wet-shampoo or steam. Spot-clean with a dry or barely-damp cloth.
- Rotate regularly and use a pad to reduce friction and slipping.
- Shake it out or take it outside to beat out trapped grit.
