The Craft

Made by hand, made to last

A true hand-knotted rug is built one knot at a time. A skilled weaver ties up to 10,000 knots a day; a single rug can hold more than a million. That is why these rugs outlive the people who make them.

Colour from the earth

Our traditional pieces are coloured with natural dyes — madder root for red, indigo leaf for blue, weld and pomegranate for gold, walnut husk for brown. Natural dye softens and glows over decades instead of fading flat.

Slow, on purpose

From shearing and spinning to dyeing, knotting, washing and finishing, a single rug can take up to a year to complete. That patience is what you feel underfoot.
